The Book of Acts tells the story of the foundation of the Church. Upon Jesus’ ascension into heaven, His disciples were left with a daunting task: to spread the message of salvation to a resistant, hostile world. How did this group of unqualified, ordinary men accomplish this extremely critical, all-important mission? Through the power of the Holy Spirit!
This month, join us as we begin a new series in the Book of Acts and see how the fire that emblazoned the hearts of the apostles through the Holy Spirit spread throughout the world. Learn how God can use you to impact your world with the same fire that started 2,000 years ago and continues to change lives today!
In Acts 17:6, an angry mob claimed that the followers of Jesus were turning the world upside down. It would surely seem that way from the outside, wouldn’t it? But the truth is, the apostles and other believers were doing the opposite! God was using them to turn an upside down world right side up, restoring those who believed to right relationship with God through faith in Jesus.
Study along with us as we make our way through the second part of the Book of Acts in a series titled “Turn the World Upside Down.” See how God used men like Paul and his companions to change the world, and learn how He can use you to do the same today!
The Book of Acts tells the story of the greatest fire ever lit, a fire that still burns today. And like any fire, it needs a spark (the death and resurrection of Jesus), air (the Holy Spirit, the breath of God in us), and fuel (the gospel) to spread.
As we study Acts 8–12, we’ll see how this fire from heaven filled the hearts of the disciples, giving them a passion for Jesus and a burden for the lost that couldn’t be contained. And when the winds of opposition blew, they only served to spread the good news of the gospel like wildfire through the ancient world, reaching the Gentiles in places like Asia, Africa, and Europe.
